Happy Birthday Celia Cruz
October 21, 1925 - July 16, 2003

WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL

Dear Celia Cruz Community,

Welcome back to school for the 2021-2022 school year! I am excited to meet and speak with everyone now that a 100% return to in-person instruction will begin for students on 9/13/2021.

Our return to school still involves many questions, and not all of them yet have answers; there are concerns that our community continues to face, and there are many policies that are evolving and changing as the needs of our students change. However, I promise you that Celia Cruz will be a source of information for you and that we are taking steps to provide that information to you in new ways. Here are two goals and ways I intend to do that.

I want the school's website to be the first place our community goes for information. I want to anticipate your needs and have resources available in an easy-to-access format. When someone has a question, I want them to first look for information online.

I want to facilitate communication and streamline the parent experience at Celia Cruz. We are increasing the services available to families in the new "Parent Hub" and are hiring a part-time "Parent Liaison" to facilitate communication further and help families when they come to the school. The new "Hub" will be the first place parents are asked to go when arriving at Celia Cruz, and I want parents to begin asking for the Hub when they come. Please let me know how I can help you, support your students, or serve the community. As Principal, I believe I must constantly innovate and facilitate the evolution of Celia Cruz, and I welcome your ideas and feedback, as well as any criticism you would like to share.

Best,

Jerrod Mabry
